New release: JReviews 5.5.0
Alejandro Schmeichler
We're excited to announce the release of JReviews 5.5.0, packed with numerous enhancements, including Joomla 6 compatibility, as well important bug fixes. This update is highly recommended for all users to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
Drag & Drop Re-ordering
In this version, we've introduced drag & drop re-ordering for listing type widgets setup in administration. This feature allows for a more intuitive and efficient organization of your widgets, enhancing the overall user experience.
Discussion Enhancements
The discussion reply form has been improved to auto-open only when a review lacks existing discussions, streamlining user interactions and reducing unnecessary form clutter.
Performance Improvements
- Background Process Handling: We've enhanced background process detection and handling on servers, improving CLI binary detection and checks for disabled functions.
- Autocomplete Relevance: Custom field autocomplete now prioritizes whole-word matches over substrings, providing more accurate search results.
Maps Add-on
We've fixed an issue where batch geocoding was not using the default country value when available. Additionally, Nominatim batch geocoding requests now include a proper User-Agent and are rate-limited, improving reliability and reducing service rejections.
PaidListings Add-on
Fixed an issue where payment handlers images would not show during checkout.
YOOTheme Pro Add-on
This update introduces the 'JReviews Output' element for better integration of regular JReviews pages in the YOOTheme Pro builder. A dynamic template condition `Is JReviews Page` was added for WordPress, enabling flexible content output and dynamic page rules. We've also resolved an issue in the WordPress integration where YOOTheme single-page templates were overriding JReviews menu pages.
Buddypress Add-on
We've addressed issues with JReviews activities not displaying correctly in the BuddyPress stream, ensuring complete activity bodies are shown and grouped media activities are visible.
EngageUsers Add-on
The query performance for activity feeds has been improved with new database indexes, resulting in faster loading times. Additionally, photos uploaded within a 15-minute window are now grouped together in activity streams, reducing clutter.
