New release: JReviews 5.6.0

We're excited to announce the release of JReviews 5.6.0, featuring enhanced integration capabilities, improved user experience, and critical bug fixes. We highly recommend updating to this version to take full advantage of these improvements.

JReviews Core Enhancements

In this release, we've reconnected the YouTube API Key in the admin video links, allowing you to automatically pull video durations and descriptions when a key is provided. This streamlines video management and enhances content presentation.

We've also improved the admin settings search functionality, ensuring your input is not replaced while typing and results auto-scroll to relevant inputs. This makes navigating and configuring settings more intuitive.

To enhance security and user experience, we've prevented password managers like 1Password from attaching to plain text inputs, reducing unwanted autofill occurrences.

Maps Add-on

The Maps Add-on receives significant updates with address/location autocomplete for listing forms, offering improved two-line suggestions for a smoother user experience. Additionally, we've added Photon geocoder as a new provider and upgraded Mapbox to the Search Box API, enhancing POI coverage and provider accuracy.

We've also introduced a new Maps API coordinator to prevent duplicate API loads, ensuring more reliable map behavior. Map components now respect listing detail zoom levels and automatically update when coordinates change, providing a consistent editing experience.

Performance Improvements

This release includes several performance improvements, such as replacing jQuery event handling with native JavaScript for Street View repositioning, reducing UI jank for smoother interactions.

We have also applied dynamic zoom capping based on tile layer limits to prevent over-zooming on different map providers, ensuring a more accurate location selection process.

Fixes and Stability Enhancements

• Resolved deprecated string callback usage in the JReviews shortcodes plugin to eliminate warnings.
• Fixed listing order not saving for related-listing fields, preserving custom order settings.
• Restored aggregateRating ratingValue on user review pages when summaries are disabled, maintaining correct structured data.
• Fixed "view all reviews" pages returning 404 errors when listing slugs contain special characters.
• (Joomla 6) Addressed click-to-search URL redirect errors involving special characters in search values.
• (Joomla 6) Fixed background command execution issues under Joomla 6 for reliable job queuing.
